Former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rivers state and immediate past chairman of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Rivers state Branch Hon. Charles Beke has said he is impressed with the PHCCIMA office outlook and the strides of the present administration of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce led by Chief Nabil Saleh to reposition PHCCIMA and place her on the path of greatness in the comity of chambers of commerce in the country. Hon. Beke made this commendation when he visited the PHCCIMA Secretariat where he was received by the 1st Deputy President, Chief Mike Elechi, who represented the President. According to him, “Let me commend the present administration, particularly considering the new outlook of the modern office environment and ambiance, developed by a team of business-oriented individuals that are full of ideas, energy, and focus”. This is my first visit and the impression is stunning, perhaps I will bring my people from MAN to come and understudy and key into this excellence’” he said, opting in the process to revalidate his membership as soon as possible. He said a modern office environment has all its advantages, in spite of productive office atmosphere, it helps to keep existing employees engaged and motivated, inspires, attracts and build the confidence of visitors, helping your business wear the toga of a productive and seamless workplace environment, he said. The first Deputy President, Chief Mike Elechi who took him round on a familiarization tour of the secretariat, said “PHCCIMA is entrenching another dynamism to the Chamber movement in the country, with a one-stop-shop housing the different business entities and agencies and spearheading the first e-chamber of commerce in the country, going digital with electronic membership ID Card, 80% paperless activities and a membership portal”. “Furthermore, we are building an e-payment system, even as we have a smart workspace, an electronic staff attendance system, an e membership directory, business linkages trade missions among others.
