CHINESE BUSINESS DELEGATION SEEKING EXPANSIONIST CHEMICAL PLANT BUSINESS PAYS COURTESY CALL ON PHCCIMA PRESIDENT

A group of Chinese International Businessmen profound in global chemical business from the Shandong Deshi Petroleum Engineering Group Co., Ltd and seeking expansionist business openings in Rivers state today paid a courtesy call on the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Chief Nabil Saleh at the chamber secretariat. Led by MD/CEO of Goddie Chemicals Ltd/Elected Council Member and Exco Supervisor for Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Trade Group, Engr Godwin Etim, he disclosed that the Chinese delegation comprises of management of the Shandong Deshi Petroleum Engineering Group Co., Ltd - a company with huge chemical blending facility tank in China. According to him, the company has set a benchmark of two years with which to establish one blending plant in Port Harcourt, with one already established in Abu Dhabi. He expressed confidence that the group has the capacity and resources required, revealing that they are also into rigging, stimulation, work-over among others, but decided since they are in Port Harcourt to stop over at the chamber to visit the President. The leader of the Chinese group and Director with the company, Mr Fan Feng said the delegation is in Port Harcourt to explore business opportunities and open new frontiers. According to him, with what they have seen so far Port Harcourt holds a lot of prospects for their type of business, Mr Feng had also during the visit called for PHCCIMA’s support to help them achieve their objective. Speaking earlier, PHCCIMA President Chief Nabil Saleh had welcomed the group and assured them that Port Harcourt is open for business and healthy collaboration. He called for business synergy between China and the state that will be mutually beneficial, assuring them that they are in the right place and with the right man in Chief Godwin Etim, the MD/CEO of Goddie Chemicals Limited - one of the biggest players in the chemical business in this side of the country. “We want you to move to Port Harcourt and operate from the city in a robust partnership with Goddie chemicals who is not just a very vital member of the chamber but one with huge experience in the chemical space. PHCCIMA’s 1st Deputy President in his remark expressed confidence that end users of their products are readily available in Port Harcourt, and said that is the more reason why it is imperative to establish their plant in Port Harcourt. He invited them to participate in the upcoming Port Harcourt International Trade fair 2019 with a view to further showcase their product and potentials Dr Chinyere Nwoga, PHCCIMA’s 2nd deputy President in her remark said the chamber is always here to support business and attract investment. She assured the delegation that PHCCIMA through Goddie Chemical will always support their business because we have great confidence in Engr Godwin Etim. Most importantly, she urged them to join the membership of the chamber when they establish their business in the city. Highlight of the visit was a pictorial session and a routine showcase of the PHCCIMA secretariat by the Director General, Mr Erasmus Chukunda.
