PHCCIMA ASSURES INVESTORS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has assured a delegation of investors from South Africa of their readiness to assist in getting necessary information needed for their mission to succeed in Rivers state.
President of PHCCIMA, Dr Vincent Furo, gave the assurance during their meeting with investors in Port Harcourt and Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) in Port Harcourt.

FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL: PHCCIMA WELCOMES PRIVATE SECTOR PARTICIPATION IN THE DOWNSTREAM DEREGULATION OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES
Following the controversy that has greeted the recent removal of fuel subsidy, the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(PHCCIMA) has said its position on the lingering issue is purely based on its effects on the Organized Private Sector (OPS).

The executives, council members and staffs of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, PHCCIMA has congratulated its President, Dr. (Engr.) Vincent Furo on his recent conferment of Doctorate degree in Humanities by the Commonwealth University Belize and Albion College Graduate school, London.
The award presented in a colourful ceremony during the Dubai Leadership Summit on December 15th 2011, was a dream fulfilled by dint of hard work and commitment, according to the PHCCIMA President.
RSG Set to Tackle Taxation and Challenges Facing Investors
In line with the advocacy carried out by the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture, PHCCIMA, the Rivers State Government has finally stated that it will tackle the issue of Taxation next year.
Governor Ameachi stated this while flagging off the opening ceremony of the 7th edition of Port Harcourt International Trade fair at Isaac Boro Park on Tuesday 29th November 2011.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Commerce Rivers State, Ckukwuma Chienye said there are plans by the government to harmonize taxation in the state.

7th Port Harcourt Int’l Trade Fair To Kick Off Nov. 24th – Dec. 6th 2011
All is now set for the 7th edition of Port Harcourt International Trade Fair.
The fair is organized by the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, PHCCIMA, ably supported by MACE Events Management Limited, a renowned events marketing company.
This year’s event is scheduled to hold from November 24th to December 6th 2011 at the famous Isaac Boro Park Ground and has as its theme: “Advancing New Prospects for SME Growth and Economic Development in Rivers State”.
